For the 6th time Europe’s biggest dance festival around afrodiasporic culture took place in Berlin. From the 18th to 22nd October CDC provided a unique space for exchange and growth with their authentic and original concept.
Following this year’s motto “Riddim of Joy and Resistance” participants had the chance to learn from an international line up of outstanding dancers and mentors at the Culture Dance Camp.
Since we as MINCE e.V. always focus on combining cultural and political education, we offered free reflection and empowerment sessions. We understand them as important spaces to exchange, grow, learn and to lay the foundation for this year’s Festival.
As a special surprise we proudly presented the dance theatre Afrikan Party!
An ode to Afrika, a celebration of its diverse and amazing cultures, Afrikan Party is a stage piece that narrates the afrikan lifestyle, music and fashion through the prism of this child from the United States of Afrika.
Between motion and emotion was the title of the CDC 2023 conference. Our panelists exchanged the cultural and emotional expression of emotions like joy, pride and anger & resilience.
On Friday night we introduced a new evening event. The Culture Dance Night – a performance night with artists from Berlin and Europe curated with love.
One of the highlights was seeing CDC’s talents and dancers from all over Europe at the Culture Dance Clash. A unique battle that had the room going through all kinds of emotion, talents that left the spectators speechless.
